Cyclone Sir Response Report 2009
On the 15th of November 2007 Cyclone Sidr caused devastation throughout the districts of Bagerhat, Barguna, Patuakhali and Patuakhali in Bangladesh. This report gives details of the emergency relief and long term development projects implemented in the aftermath of the disaster and during the subsequent year. This report gives details of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of homes and infrastructure throughout these regions.
House of Commons International Development Committee’s Report: Working Together to Make Aid More Effective.
This report looks at progress made on implementing the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness. The declaration aims to make aid more effective and efficient by reducing duplication, transaction costs, and misdirected aid. It is committed to helping developing countries' governments formulate and implement their own national development plans. Muslim Aid contributed to the report and highlighted the relationship between weak government structures and aid effectiveness in Somalia (p.15).

British Prime Minister Praises Muslim Aid and UMCOR Partnership
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown MP praised the work of Muslim Aid and The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) in his speech at the UN Interfaith Conference at New York, on the 13th of November 2008 which discussed the role of faith based organisations in working together to promote peace and diversity for the common good.
In his speech he said ".... the values of different faiths are already expressed in joint projects and common service. We in Britain have Muslim Aid, collaborating with the United Methodist Committee in America, to respond to the needs of disaster victims in Asia".

The ODI and All Party Group on Overseas Development Event ‘Faith Relief and Development-the partnership between Muslim Aid and the United Methodist Committee on Relief’ .
The ODI and All Party Group on Overseas Development held an event at Westminster on 11th November 2008. The event highlighted the work between Muslim Aid and UMCOR in post-Tsunami Sri Lanka which was formalised as a global cross-faith partnership in 2007. Dr Clarke has undertaken fieldwork for the research in New York, London and Sri Lanka and presented a paper assessing the partnership to the annual meeting of the Development Studies Association of the UK and Ireland three days before this APGOOD meeting. The speakers were Amjad Saleem , Muslim Aid Country Director for Sri Lanka and Dr Gerard Clarke, Senior Lecturer in Development Studies, CSES, University of Swansea.
