Eid Mubarak!

08 December 2008

Assalamualaikum wa Rahmatullah

Muslim Aid staff , trustees and beneficiaries would like to wish you all –Eid Mubarak!

A big thank you to all who made a sacrifice this Eid-ul-Adha and helped thousands of poor and needy communities throughout the world.

To date you have raised over £200,000 which will go towards delivering fresh Qurbani and canned Qurbani meat to families who rarely have two meals a day.

Remember it is not too late to make someone’s Eid that little bit special, so if you would like to purchase your Qurbani through Muslim Aid, then get online or pick up the phone -it couldn’t be simpler.

We pray that Allah accepts our prayers and our sacrifice and gives us the opportunity to continue working for a more just, peaceful and compassionate world.

Where is your Qurbani going?

We have been delivering fresh Qurbani and canned Qurbani meat to 54 countries across the world to provide the most vulnerable communities with a nutritious meal. We are working in countries across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Food for thought
This year your Qurbani donations have made a huge impact in tackling the Global Food Crisis. Food prices in developing countries have more than doubled pushing millions into poverty. While our Ramadan and Qurbani programmes give a welcomed meal and extra nutrition to the most vulnerable families, thinking long term is the key to tackling the crisis. Muslim Aid is just one of many NGOs who are implementing short term and long term nutritional projects to feed those living below the poverty line. However we have to work much harder as over 900 million people are still going hungry every day!

But you can make all the difference. Without your support we would not be able to fund projects such as our school kitchens projects in Sri Lanka, our Food Bank in Sudan or our ovens project in Palestine. You also help us to provide agricultural tools and seeds to give small farmers a chance to produce their own food in a competitive market. Together and with the grace of Allah, we can meet the Millennium Development Goals to eradicate extreme hunger and poverty by 2015 Inshallah.

May Allah reward you for your good deeds ,

Thanks again for all your support this Eid-Ul-Adha and Eid Mubarak!
