Muslim Aid held three events in London, Manchester and Birmingham from 2nd – 4th November, 2012, to raise funds for destitute children around the world. Each night was themed The Children’s Night of Empowerment. An astounding £110,000 was raised in both donations and pledges.

Aimed at highlighting the plight of impoverished children all over the world, the event featured an array of acts, including comedy by Prince Abdi, nasheed singing by Labbayk, Kamal Uddin and Abdullah Rolle, and theatrical performances by pupils from Gatton Primary School, London and Al-Furqan School, Birmingham.

In his keynote speech, Dr Manazir Ahsan MBE, Chairman of Muslim Aid, emphasised the importance of caring for the world’s youth: “The reason why children are at the forefront of all that we do at Muslim Aid is because we know they will grow up to make the world a better place to live. All our projects aim to empower and give children the best possible future for tomorrow.”
