Muslim Aid has already allocated £75,000 to Haiti and has launched a campaign for £250,000 for its people. We are appealing for your help for the thousands of people who are suffering as we speak.
Within hours of the earthquake striking Haiti our partners Global Medic and UMCOR were on the ground in the country. A team has also been dispatched and are focussed on providing access to clean drinking water with purification units as well as setting up a large inflatable field emergency hospital. Much needed clean water, emergency shelters, medicines and food aid are now getting to the victims of the disaster.
The devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake has left the people of Haiti devastated and communications with the country remain weak. As with many disasters of this kind, information is scant at this stage as casualties and damage cannot yet be estimated. The outlook remains bleak.
