Bilal speaks to Muslim Aid

The £300,000 you generously donated at our ‘Evening for the Children of Gaza’ event has enabled Muslim Aid to expand the water rehabilitation project in Jabalia. The plant is providing clean water for people in Gaza. Earlier this year we spoke to Bilal al-Burj of the Foundation for Improvement and Development and he was hopeful that “With the help of Muslim Aid we will able to expand this project…this is going to benefit thousands of Palestinian citizens.”

Since speaking to Bilal we can report that the project has made considerable progress. We have been able to organise the drilling of a water well and we have installed a desalination plant in order to purify the water we get from it. We have also ensured that we can safely store and distribute the purified water with the purchase of both stationary and mobile water tanks. All this means thousands of Palestinians are now enjoying safe drinking water.
