Haniza Kob, Cambodia
Haniza is seven year’s old living in the Chroy Changva Commune, Ressey Keo District, Cambodia.
Haniza lives with her grandmother and aunt in a traditional house. Sadly, Haniza’s mother abandoned her which left her with psychological trauma. Haniza stopped talking, even with her grandmother. Haniza’s trauma continued until March 2009, when she started school and became a Rainbow Family Child.
Through Muslim Aid, Haniza’s fees for English classes, food, medical care and clothes are provided. Her mentor often visits and motivates her. Haniza is a smart child; she knows English and Arabic alphabets and can read some surah’s. Haniza does well at School and enjoys her English classes.
Feeling much more stable Haniza said: “I am not lonely anymore, I got Muslim Aid beside me and I have my mentor. When I am ill I get a doctor, I get daily good meals, some fruits and sufficient study materials for school.”
Commenting on the Rainbow Family Programme, Haniza gleefully said: “Sometimes I am taken to some good places for recreation with other children. I will never forget Muslim Aid. I do thank the donor. Please continue to help me till I am strong enough for myself.”
