Eid-Ul-Fitr Message from the Chairman at Muslim Aid
Assalaamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh & Eid Mubarak
May you be well throughout the year.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, staff & volunteers of Muslim Aid, I would like to convey our heartfelt Eid Greetings to all our donors and supporters. May Allah (SWT) shower his mercy and blessings upon you and your loved ones and accept your ibaadah and efforts during the holy month of Ramadan.
On this happy occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, let us also pray for those who are suffering and are in desperate need of help. This year we have witnessed the worst drought in Somalia in 60 years. Many of our brothers and sisters have fled their homes in search of food and water and many lives have been lost along the way.
We would like to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to all of our Field Offices and Partners who implemented Muslim Aid’s annual Feed the Fasting Programme to bring nourishment and joy to the needy the world over. This was made possible by the generous support of our donors and supporters.
We would also like to thank ASDA and our dedicated volunteers for joining forces in Ramadan to raise funds for projects to provide food security and long-term sustainable solutions to disadvantaged communities across the world.
May Allah grant us peace, prosperity, progress, and above all, the tawfique to continue to serve humanity with all the means He has granted to us - Ameen.
Wassalam & Eid Mubarak

Ramadan Message from the Chairman at Muslim Aid
Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahamtullah wa Barakatuh
Ramadan Kareem. May Allah grant you peace, excellent health and shower His choicest Blessings and Rahmah on you and your families in this Blessed month, Ameen.
Amongst other things, Ramadan is also a time to remember our brothers and sisters in other parts of the world who have been adversely affected and are facing immense difficulties and hardship. We all need to offer special prayers to Allah Almighty to alleviate their suffering and grant them relief.
Alhamdulillah, Muslim Aid is one of the very few aid agencies which has been operating in Somalia for many years. In the current Horn of Africa famine emergency, our Somalia Field office has been providing relief aid in and around Central Mogadishu as well as in Al Shahab controlled areas and will insha’Allah continue to do so in the holy month of Ramadan. By the Grace of Allah the response from our donors to our appeal for the Horn of Africa has been supportive and generous. May Allah reward them abundantly and grant us the strength and stamina to work even harder to help the poor and the needy in various parts of the globe.
May the Most Merciful and the Most Kind keep us safe and steady on His path always and may He accept our ibaadah and forgive all our sins, Ameen.
Allah’s mercy and blessings be with you all.
With kindest salaams and du’as,
Sir Iqbal Sacranie

Muslimaat Iftar: Raising Funds for Maternity Care in Malawai 13th August
The Muslim Aid team had a fantastic time at the Muslimaat Iftar raising money to provide adequate maternity care for mothers and babies in Malawi. The event took place on Saturday 13th August at The Water Lilly Banqueting Suite in Whitechapel and featured a mini souk, with all kinds of stalls selling Aloe Vera skincare, cupcakes to exquisite clothing. Amongst the hustle and bustle, Muslim Aid volunteers engaged passers by with their live artwork, painting an original acrylic based canvas which was auctioned for a stunning £150. The crowd were all given the opportunity to ‘make their mark on the map of Malawi’ by using paint to make fingerprints in the Malawi colours. The day proved to be an amazing success with a total of £45,000 raised. Enough to run the hospital for 2 years!
Credit has to go to the lovely Muslimaat sisters who did a fantastic job in organising the whole event, and making it possible for Muslim Aid to run the maternity hospital in Malawi with the funds raised.
Ramadan Club Fundraisers
Last week our London Office had a wonderful surprise visit from a group of 7 children aged 5-7 years old. The children became excited after hearing about Muslim Aid’s money box campaign, raising money to help street children across the world. Through their weekly Ramadan club meetings, where they learn about Ramadan in an interactive and fun way, the children were inspired to participate in fundraising for the cause. They did this by being extra good and performing even more good deeds so that they could collect money from family and friends.
Collectively these charming little brothers and sisters raised a fantastic total of over £400, mashAllah. So from the Muslim Aid team, we would like to say a massive Thank You and Well Done!
