Who we are:

Muslim Aid is a British, faith-based international development organisation that provides support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict or endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background. 

What you will be doing:

This crucial role sits at the heart of the Muslim Aid Fundraising team. You will support the Director of Business Development (DBD) by providing administrative support on projects, assisting with the daily running of their office, scheduling incoming work and managing the flow of information.

Working with a passionate, talented and fast-paced team, you will provide a comprehensive administrative / financial support service to the fundraising department particularly on non-community functions (corporate, major gifts and mass participation) as well as the regular community Fundraising events. 

The main responsibilities of this role will be to:

  1. Develop a thorough understanding of Muslim Aid’s work areas in order to ensure strategic linkages / appropriate dissemination of information or assignment of actions.
  2. Develop, maintain and review administrative systems to achieve maximum efficiency and to have high-level exposure across the organisation including admin, finance, IT, HR, supporter services, IP, comms. etc.
  3. Assist the DBD with the preparation of PowerPoint presentations, documents, briefing papers, action points and reports as requested and to track work across all relevant departments to ensure the nominated Manager undertakes action within the agreed time frame.
  4. Provide administrative support to DBD and fundraising incl. preparing and drafting correspondence, booking meetings, minute-taking, planning and supporting events, organising travel and preparing travel itineraries and relevant tasks as required by the DBD.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with a blend of great administrative experience as well as excellent communication skills. You will be the glue that holds together a regional fundraising function and has a significant impact on the success of the department. 

You need to be confident, a strong team player and able to juggle multiple priorities. You will be IT literate and willing to take on ad hoc tasks and responsibilities at short notice. This is a not a typical administrative role, this requires flexibility, enthusiasm and resilience as the team moves at a fast pace. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy is crucial to make this role a success.
