 Who we are: 

Muslim Aid is a British, faith-based international development organisation that provides support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict or endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background.

What you’ll be doing: 

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract to cover an internal secondment. The Regional Programmes Coordinator (South Asia) will provide support to allocated country offices across the South Asia region delivering effective programmes on time and on budget and aligned with the Muslim Aid Global Strategic Plan as well as the Country Strategic Plan and annual Work Plan Budget. 

The key responsibilities for this role include: 

  • Keeping an up to-date overview of operational matters in the region, with in-depth knowledge of Muslim Aid activities in Country Offices.
  • Critically appraising project proposals submitted by Country Offices and Partner Organisations to ensure that they have clear sense of purpose and direction.
  • Assisting Country Offices to produce project proposals for funding from both Muslim Aid and institutional donors through field visits and regular follow up.
  • Preparing the final draft of reports, proposals, project summaries and appraisals (as well as donor-required documents).
  • Participating in the development of country and global strategy, planning and in policy development taking into account Muslim Aid experience and capacity in the respective country.
  • Working with Country Offices to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.
  • Undertaking monitoring and assessment field visits to Country Offices and Country Programmes to ensure programmes are implemented as proposed, contracted and per donor guidelines and standards.
  • Monitoring Country Office programmatic and administrative systems activities to ensure field offices are operating to Muslim Aid policies and standards.
  • Travel to Muslim Aid Country Offices for 30% of the year.  Each visit may last for up to 30 days. 

Who we are looking for 

You will be an exceptional, experienced and qualified International Development professional with a thorough understanding of development programmes design, implementation and evaluation. You will have experience of monitoring and evaluating programmes and dealing with institutional donors and international donors. Specifically, you will have experience of working on emergency and/or disaster preparedness programmes in developing countries as well as experience of at least one of the specialised areas of livelihoods, education and MNCH.
