Make your donation go further by declaring Gift Aid at no extra cost.

If you have Gift Aided your donation, Muslim Aid will receive 25p for every pound you give. This means we can make more of a positive impact on the lives of the poor worldwide.

How does Gift Aid Work?

You can Gift Aid your donation at no extra cost. Muslim Aid can reclaim the basic rate tax from HM Revenue and Customs (25p for every £1 you donate).  For example with Gift Aid, you can turn £20 into £25 or £100 into £125. All you have to do is make a Gift Aid declaration.

How do I qualify for Gift Aid?

If you’re a UK tax payer (Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax) you can declare Gift Aid. For every £1 you donate to Muslim Aid in a financial year, you must have paid 25p in Income or Capital Gains Tax in the same financial year to qualify for Gift Aid (Inheritance Tax, Council Tax and VAT do not qualify towards Gift Aid).

How do I make a Gift Aid Declaration?

Simply fill up our online Gift Aid Declaration form. It takes less than a minute to complete and there is no additional cost to you. If you change your name and/or address after, please let us know.

Is there a minimum donation that Muslim Aid can claim on?

No. We can claim back the Gift Aid on any amount.

How long does the declaration last for?

The declaration will be indefinite, unless you tell us to cancel it. We do need to know if you are no longer a UK tax payer or if you change your name and/or address. We can claim back up to four years from the day of the declaration.

Can Pensioners make a declaration of Gift Aid?

Yes, if you have savings and pay Income or Capital Gains Tax of an equal or higher amount than we are trying to claim (currently 25p in the £)

Can I claim tax relief on Gift Aid?

If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can currently claim back 25p for every pound you’ve donated in tax relief from the HM Revenue and Customs when you fill in your self-assessment form.
