Due to catastrophic flooding, caused by record breaking amounts of rainfall and countless landslides in Northern and Central Bosnia, a state of emergency has been declared throughout Bosnia. Several people have already lost their lives, tens of thousands have been evacuated and hundreds of thousands are left without power, drinking water and food supplies. One of the largest relief efforts is underway as the worst is not over yet. Many cities are affected by the floods and landslides. People are running out of supplies needed for survival.
On top of all that, the floods and landslides raise fears of nearly 120,000 unexploded land mines and their warning signs being toppled and in many cases dislodged the mines themselves.
