Syria Update 9 October 2012

As the number of Syrian casualties increase, Muslim Aid continued to work on the ground in Syria through its partners and is distributing aid to those living in main cities in Syria. Muslim Aid is also helping refugees in Iraq and Jordan through its field offices.

Muslim Aid has been providing medical assistance to those in Syria who have been affected by the recent violence. During Ramadan, Muslim Aid’s partner distributed food to 300 families, including pasta, hummus, oil, dates, sugar, bread and tea.

In Iraq, 3500 Syrian refugees in Husayba received mattresses, blankets, pillows and safe drinking water.

In Jordan non-food items such as hygiene packs, nappies for babies and sanitary goods distributed to 220 households.

This Eid-ul Adha, Muslim Aid will implement its Qurbani programme in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq.
