Muslim Aid is a British, faith-based international development organisation that provides support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict or endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background.
What you’ll be doing:
The National Mosque Manager is a key role for Muslim Aid to nurture and develop the positive relationships we have within the community. In this role you will be responsible for creating, maintaining and developing relationships with mosques, including their youth and women’s departments, in order to maximise fundraising and awareness for Muslim Aid. In addition you will be responsible for creating a mosque development/engagement strategy to enhance relationships and revenue to the next level.
Some key expectations of this role will be:
To research and identify Mosques across the country that can be pro-active supporters of Muslim Aid and to maintain relationships with mosques to lead and promote Muslim Aid’s fundraising collections, promote fundraising campaigns throughout the year, lead stage fundraising and public announcements in mosques and at other religious events
You would also be responsible for planning and coordinating national mosque tours and events for / with mosques and to continually research and keep up to date with the national and international market and amend fundraising plans accordingly.
This role will work closely with the rest of the fundraising team and there will be a substantial amount of national and potentially international travel involved.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for an exceptional relationship-builder, someone who understands the Muslim community and is able to articulate the work that Muslim Aid does articulately. You will be able to inspire people and to develop long-term relationships, with the gravitas to gain the trust and respect of relevant internal and external stakeholders.
You will have experience of building and delivering a fundraising programme and of securing income across a range of fundraising disciplines, especially from mosques. You will have expertise in devising engaging new funding models and activities and have experience of direct accountability for financial and other targets. You will have experience of organising events and tours at Mosques and be confident at delivering against your targets.
