Charity giving should be a significant part of life throughout the year, but we often end up overlooking the importance of this duty due to the distractions of our own busy lives. However, sometimes we need to take the time to reflect on our own lives, as well as the lives of other people around the world. Realising how fortunate we are can help to keep us humble, creating a more positive effect as we understand how greatly we are blessed.
However, it is still important to keep those less fortunate than ourselves in mind. Syria donations are one way to show our vulnerable brothers and sisters that we are thinking about them – even though we are strangers who will likely never meet; it is a big comfort to them to know that they are not alone.
One such way to make sure that we give thought to disadvantaged people like those currently suffering in war-torn Syria is by donating to charity. Many charities are currently running special emergency campaigns geared specifically around sending aid to the people of Syria; donations can range from food aid to shelter, warm clothing and essential medical supplies, but all are greatly needed and greatly appreciated.
When you lead a busy life, it can be hard to find time in your hectic schedule to dedicate to charity. Luckily, there is a specific day set out to overcome this, ensuring that you are able to complete your good deed for charity without having to commit to time you don’t have.
Donate a Day’s Wages to Charity Day falls on the second Wednesday of May each year, which in 2017, is May 10. The aim of the day is simple – to encourage people to increase their charitable giving and get involved with the causes that matter most to them. Even if you are not in a position to be able to donate an entire day’s wages to charity, a small contribution will be just as gratefully received. After all, charities such as Muslim Aid rely solely on your generosity, and even the smallest donations will help to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged people around the world.
The people you are helping may never be in a position to be able to thank you personally, but we can thank you on their behalf. With your generous backing, we are able to reach out and support many thousands of displaced Syrian families, helping to provide the necessary means to create a more positive future.
This year, take part in Donate a Day’s Wages to Charity Day. With Muslim Aid as the platform for your donation, you will know that your generous contribution will be helping the people who need it most.
