Current Economic Crisis
For many people around the world, living in a time of economic crisis is no mean feat. With expenses soaring through the roof, many families find that being able to afford the bare essentials has become something of a luxury. Around the world, there are parents going without to ensure their children do not go hungry, as well as those less well off going days without food, shelter, warmth, water and more besides.
The biggest factors in many countries – no matter where you are in the world, are wage rates and increased housing costs, and, to a lesser extent the relatively higher cost of transport and energy.
As such, necessities have become an extravagance, and an even bigger luxury, needless to say, is being able to keep our families, and ourselves warm throughout winter. With energy costs soaring through the roof, getting through this bitterly cold winter is going to be a battle for many. What’s more, with climate change affecting the weather we typically experience year in, year out, changing all the time, nobody can predict what we will experience week to week.
Needless to say, there are hundreds of thousands of individuals and families in many countries – even right here on our own doorstep - that are currently homeless with no means of getting through the season without a helping hand. Without the additional expense of heating homes, many are reliant on layers of clothing, blankets, candles and huddling together as families in the same room let alone outside to keep warm.
Whilst, on the other hand, there are so many hundreds of thousands reading this that are fortunate enough to have sufficient clothing to keep warm, cars to travel in in comfort, adequate heating and endless nourishment to keep us and our families warm this season…
Donate to Muslim Aid today and help us to deliver sufficient aid to those who are in a less fortunate position than us – those who will be facing a winter full of blistering winds, snowstorms and blizzards without the means to keep warm. Whilst we sit near our cosy fireplaces with a hot cup of soup at the end of a long, cold day – imagine how it would feel to be sitting out there in the bitter cold, with absolutely nothing to keep warm?
Your donation, no matter how big or small, can go an incredibly long way into ensuring that as many of those suffering from poverty this winter are catered for and given the means to keep warm.
Donate today and help us to serve humanity this winter.
