Part Four: T - Z
In the Muslim Aid four-part A-Z Charity Special, we aim to raise awareness of just how many campaigns, causes and projects we run around the world, as well as highlight those that we desperately need help and support with.
Our primary goal is to help those that need it, restore faith in others and serve humanity in the process - but we need your continuous support to do so. The ongoing commitment and support of your donations and time will continue to help us in making a difference to those in need of help, wherever they are in the world.
In our bid to raise awareness to the numerous campaigns you have helped support, please find our fourth and final instalment of our A-Z Charity Special.
The term taqwa means to be God conscious, virtuous, and obedient to your Lord. Allah SWT loves those who give to charity and greatly rewards those who give to others with humility.
UK Development Programmes
So many world disasters are communicated daily in the news and media worldwide, that we sometimes forget what is right in front of us. There are many thousands of homeless people and undernourished individuals and families right here in the UK - and these are more vulnerable than ever during the winter months.
Money is not the only form of donating or contributing towards helping others who are less privileged than us. It takes sufficient physical manpower to deliver towards a cause - so we encourage you to volunteer your time and help Muslim Aid to continue in serving humanity.
Water and Sanitation
Water is one of the most basic necessities of life; in fact, water makes up a large percentage of the body and brain – and water-borne diseases can lead to a number of health issues for many people around the world. Further to this, there are also those around the world who only have limited access to water - contaminated or otherwise which can make them particularly susceptible to illness.
As mentioned above, there are so many people living in extremely poor conditions around us today. Before we purchase yet another item we may not need, let’s give those around us a thought; they may not even have the basic essentials that we continuously take for granted each and every day – and you can help.
Since the airstrikes struck various cities in Yemen, many hundreds of civilians have been killed, whilst many thousands more have been critically injured. Many of those injured are still suffering from a lack of medical aid, clean water and nutrition.
Zakat is one of the five obligatory pillars of Islam and is compulsory for all Muslims that meet the set criteria. A Muslim is required to contribute a certain percentage of their annual profitable wealth towards zakat. To calculate your zakat, use our zakat calculator, here.
So there you have it; the Muslim Aid A-Z Charity Special! But it doesn’t just end there, there are still many more campaigns and causes you can show your support in.
