Welcome Ramadan 2016

 Ramadan; there are so many countless benefits of this Holy month that one would lose count, but do we all really know just how virtuous this month really is? Those of us who know the reality of the month of Ramadan would wish this month to be every month of the year.

Here at Muslim Aid, we have put together a few facts you may or may not have known about this incredible time of the year.

  • Ramadan is a time to self-cleanse and maintain your inner beauty
  • A time to practice strength and discipline our character
  • Increasing of the faith and taqwa (God-consciousness)
  • A month between you and your Lord; bringing you closer to Allah SWT
  • An opportunity to reflect on the way we live our lives
  • Encourages increased generosity towards charity
  • Natural avoidance of daily bad habits
  • Practising of patience
  • Purifying of the mind and soul
  • Testing one’s ability and exercising one’s personal strength
  • Seeking repentance whilst the Gates of Heaven are open
  • Promotes sincerity and humility
  • Encourages unity amongst people  
  • Educational and guidance for younger ones; leading them towards the right path
  • There are infinite benefits of the Night of Power in this month; the month in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed to the Holy Prophet PBUH, as guidance for all mankind
  • Increases cleanliness
  • Acquiring of knowledge
  • Improving manners and general etiquette
  • Evaluation of one's actions and daily routines
  • Purity
  • Shaytan (devil) is locked away so no distractions apart from your own intentions
  • Barakah (increase of wealth); sharing good fortune will not decrease your wealth in this month, or any other month for that matter
  • Multiplied rewards
  • Fasting is one of the obligatory Five pillars of Islam. By fasting, we are completing a significant obligation towards our deen (belief) and our Hereafter
  • The rewards of Ramadan are equal to the rewards of a thousand months
  • Increase in recitation and prayers

Along with these benefits, there are many other countless rewards in this beautiful month. It is also an incredibly privileged time for giving to charity as it increases awareness of those who suffer from hunger and poverty on a daily basis.
