To the world, you may just be one person but to one person you may just be the world.
Think about this from a humanitarian perspective for a second. On one end, there are millions of people who are living their lives in refugee camps. These are people whose entire lives have been turned upside down and they are forced to make the most of it with what little opportunities they are given.
On the other end of the spectrum is you. And you are thinking how can I possibly help all these people? You may not be able to help them all, however, if you do your part in supporting a campaign, many more like you, can also make a big impact in changing people's lives. A collective effort from people will assist in campaigns ultimately reaching their goals. In short, your donation matters.
Muslim Aid has been involved in the relief aid and charity sector for 30 years now. There is no troubled region on the planet where we are not already present, actively working with different parties on the ground to ensure aid flows amidst the trouble and turmoil. It is a tough job; one that we have gotten increasingly efficient at over the decades. However, we can’t take any credit without mentioning the immense moral and financial support of our supporters and fans. It is their donation of time and money that has led Muslim Aid to conduct successful relief aid campaigns one after the other. We had a very successful 2014.
2015 is expected to be a big year for us. We have many different projects lined up, and we will also be working on existing campaigns like the Syria Aid Appeal and the well construction in Gaza. Your donations will be crucial in ensuring we achieve the milestones we have set for ourselves for this and meet the expectations people have from us.
Look where your donations have gotten us. In Syria alone, Muslim Aid has been able to create two makeshift hospitals, medical clinics and schools for refugee children. These are massive undertakings that are even more difficult to maintain once underway. Part of the process at Muslim Aid is to look for other means to provide aid instead of just delivering aid packets. With this in mind, we have been building wells in Africa, a region suffering from poverty and hunger as well as Gaza; an area suffering from war and lack of infrastructure. We have been able to train women to become self-sufficient by training them in development programmes. At home, we have been assisting homeless people in an effort to keep them warm and safe during the brutal winter weather.
Suffice to say, your donations go a long way in people getting the right amount of aid at the right time. Visit Muslim Aid’s website and browse through our campaigns. Find one that resonates with you and make a donation today!
