Traditionally, winter is a season for staying close to home and spending time with friends, family and loved ones. It is a time for comfort food and sitting warm and cosy in front of the fire, or curling up with a hot drink and a good book. It is a time for extra blankets and warmer clothing, sturdy footwear and mornings spent scraping ice off the car before work. But winter is also a time for kindness, generosity, and giving. Winter is a time for charity.
Whilst we might be sitting wrapped up warm inside our homes, there are many people out there for whom the arrival of winter is something to be dreaded all year round. Homeless people sleeping rough, young orphans in countries around the world, people displaced and affected by conflict and war in their home countries… the list goes on and on. Although they might not all be in our local area, that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be thinking about them. It doesn’t mean that they don’t desperately need our help.
The Importance of Winter Charity
Winter charity is especially important because of the hazards and additional dangers posed by the plummeting temperatures and adverse weather. Without the basic human essentials of food, shelter, clean drinking water, warm clothing, and medical supplies, it is exceptionally difficult for these people to survive at this time of year. Risk of common coughs and colds can also develop into health issues that can be life threatening.
That is where we come in. At Muslim Aid, it is our mission to help as many people in need as we can, providing aid and relief to those who need our help all over the world. We are always simultaneously running multiple aid campaigns, targeting varying issues that people have to face. All of our winter charity campaigns are designed to send help to different people dealing with difficult situations in various countries across the world.
Our New Year’s Resolution
It is our New Year’s resolution to improve the quality of life for people both in developing countries and those who are much closer to home. But we can’t do it alone. In order to maximise our reach and provide aid to as many people as possible, we need your support.
So, this winter, why not make it your New Year’s resolution to join us in providing winter charity to those who are most in need? Support Muslim Aid and know that your generous donation is going directly towards improving someone’s quality of life. They may not be able to thank you, but on their behalf, we can.
