Bosnia and Herzegovina faced extreme cold weather conditions last month with heavy snowfall across the country. A state of emergency was declared in the east, where mountain villages had became completely cut off from the snow, which reached over 2 meters in some areas.
Muslim Aid field office in Bosnia, in collaboration with Bosnia Red Cross, responded to the cold weather by assisting the most vulnerable, including the elderly, ill, women and children with essential relief items.
Over 300 packages of food, hygiene supplies, baby food and nappies were distributed to the people most severely affected.
This was the first collaboration between Muslim Aid Bosnia with Bosnia Red Cross. The two organisations are planning to work together in other projects relating to disaster prevention and education in future.
