MUSLIM AID RESPONDS TO GRENFELL TOWER FIRE

19/06/2017 - Update

The Grenfell Muslim Response Unit (GMRU) is a coalition of four registered British Muslim charities (Muslim Aid, Human Appeal, National Zakat Foundation and Islamic Relief) providing relief and support to meet the needs of all families and victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

The Unit was set up in response to the needs identified for the victims and families, working in collaboration with the Council, authorities and other specialist organisations to ensure needs are met and relief is provided to all victims of the fire.

Below are the key service areas we are providing and delivering to victims and families affected by the fire:

- provision of cash grants to families after needs assessments

- provision of supplies (clothes/toiletries etc)

- provision of therapists/doctors/translators where required

- provision of legal representation

- provision of meals

MUSLIM AID RESPONDS TO GRENFELL TOWER FIRE:

Muslim Aid is devastated to learn about the fire in Grenfell Tower, West London.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those that have lost their homes and loved ones.  Muslim Aid are responding to the situation and volunteers have already gone to the area, to offer help to the nearby Almanaar Muslim Centre and churches which are taking in those made homeless by the tragedy.   In collaboration with other organisations, Muslim Aid has also set up a fund for the victims’ families.
