وبركاته ورحمتالله وعليكم السلام
On behalf of Muslim Aid's Board of Trustees, I would like to wish you a blessed Eid-ul-Fitr.
بخير وانتم عام كل -- May you be well each year.
This year Muslim Aid’s theme continued as 'You Give, We Serve', and we have once again been humbled by the generosity of our donors and supporters. As our theme suggests, the amount we receive determines how many people we are able to support, and as a direct result of your support and donations, Muslim Aid was able to reach over 200,000 impoverished and deserving individuals spanning 28 countries this Ramadan.
Your support will allow us to fund programmes throughout the year, from alleviating poverty and hardship to empowering communities towards attaining self sufficiency and resilience.
As you may well be aware, Muslim Aid provides support to vulnerable communities and families from programmes such as its Rainbow Family Child Support programme to its Dig a Well programme. Furthermore, your support will also allow us to help with any unforeseen natural disasters or conflicts as they arise, by providing resilience to affected communities.
Stemming from our belief that charity begins at home, Muslim Aid also carries out work for those in need across the UK throughout the year, but particularly during the winter months when the often marginalised members of our society, such as the elderly and the homeless, are most at risk.
I would like to once again thank all those who supported Muslim Aid’s Ramadan campaign this year, and look forward to your continued support so that we may continue to ease poverty and suffering around the world together.
May Allah (SWT) accept our efforts during this Ramadan and may we continue to maintain and practise the values and virtues instilled in us during this auspicious month.
Wassalam and Eid Mubarak!
Dr Suhaib Hasan
