Muslim Aid Launches Appeal as Violence and Unrest Spread Across Libya
In response to the rapidly deteriorating situation in the North African region, Muslim Aid today launched an urgent appeal to provide emergency assistance to people affected by the ongoing crisis.
Escalating violence in Libya over the last few days has resulted in thousands of people trying to leave the country and in need of urgent assistance. A Muslim Aid needs’ assessment team is in the region and coordinating with partners on the ground.
A Spokesperson for Muslim Aid said: “We are watching unfolding developments in the North Africa region closely. Muslim Aid is concerned that as the political crisis deepens, a large number of people will be caught by unrest and violence. Food supplies are dwindling and people will be in dire need of food, medicines and relief. These people are highly vulnerable and deserve urgent help to sustain themselves. The present situation, if it continues, can seriously damage people’s fragile livelihoods and drive them into further poverty”.
Muslim Aid needs your generous contribution to make this appeal successful for the people of Libya.
