Muslim Aid is a UK-based relief & development organisation established in 1985 and with country offices in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Somalia and Sudan. We have been working in Bangladesh since 1991, with a country office in Dhaka and 68 branch offices around the country. We currently have 435 staff members all working to ensure we are delivering much needed support to those who need it.

Are you an established Country Director or aspiring Country Director who can contribute to and implement our global strategy? Can you provide vision and strategic direction to all of our work in country? We need someone who has experience dealing with humanitarian responses, long term development programme design and implementation, external relationships management, and policy and influencing. This is a challenging role responsible and accountable for the strategic direction and effective management of the country office. You will ensure development, continued improvement in quality and impact of programmes and effective financial and human resource management in line with our current policies and practices.

We are seeking an outstanding and distinctive individual in order to improve the quality of our work, strengthen our credibility in the development sector, build and nurture a high performing and diverse team. This person will need to demonstrate strategic and creative leadership, management and coordination skills in a network setting, a multi-cultural worldview, a solid understanding of gender in development, and understanding of the systemic challenges and strengths of being in a global organisation. We are looking for someone who is good at building and managing relations at the highest level. Excellent communication skills, and fluency of English, are essential.

We particularly welcome applications from women and from people who would not normally consider applying to Muslim Aid. We are aiming to increase diversity and under-represented groups at senior management level, both within the Bangladesh country office and globally.
