What you’ll be doing:

Muslim Aid is looking for a Financial Controller to join their finance team working in the London Office. Reporting to the Head of Finance the role will be responsible for the implementation of robust control, compliance and financial performance reporting systems. 

Key responsibilities are:

  • Preparation and managing the annual and interim audit cycles
  • Month-end and year-end accounting processes
  • Monthly group consolidation of the global intercompany accounts
  • Develop and manage the financial reporting processes
  • Heavily involved in planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Effective and value for money treasury function
  • Business partnering to assist managers throughout the charity
  • Development of financial systems
  • Implementation of a robust control and compliance environment ensuring tight financial management

Who we are looking for

In order to succeed, you will be a qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) accountant who has extensive experience within a similar role and ideally from an audit or heavy compliance and process background, ideally in an international setting. 

You will have robust technical skills, analytical minded with excellent organisational and project management skills. 

We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, who can work on their own initiative, capable of change management and thrives when thinking and acting proactively. 

You be able to communicate complex financial information to stakeholders and possess the ability to influence and build rapport with a range of finance and non-finance persons across the organisation. Enthusiasm for international development and experience of the charity sector would be highly desirable.
