Muslim Aid is a British, faith-based international development organisation that provides support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict or endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background.

About the role:

We are looking for a full-time or part-time Programme Intern to join our Middle East team, based in London. The internship will ideally be for three-month period, starting in January/February 2019.

This is an excellent opportunity for either a student or graduate seeking a career in development and humanitarianism to gain solid experience and develop their skills. Muslim Aid work in the Middle East region.

She/he will assist the small Middle East team in the implementation of wide range of projects, including:

  1. Conducting research on facts/data on Middle East Countries to highlight main humanitarian and development needs.
  2. Project Location Mapping (possibly alongside Proposal Summaries).
  3. Researching funding trends for Middle East.
  4. Creating a master sheet for Middle East partners.
  5. Reviewing project proposals and budgets
  6. Attending Middle East weekly meetings and Departmental meetings as appropriate.
  7. Communicating with other departments (e.g. Finance, HR, Fundraising...etc) as needed.
  8. Supporting in developing the Middle East Strategy.

As an Intern you will be well supported throughout and integrated into the staff team.

About you:

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and enthusiastic about development and humanitarian work in general and in the Middle East in particular. You will hold or be working towards a relevant degree or post-grad qualification.

Travel and lunch expenses will be reimbursed according to Muslim Aid volunteer expenses policy.
