Who we are:

Muslim Aid is a British, faith-based international development organisation that provides support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict or endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background.

What you’ll be doing:

This is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for Muslim Aid’s Social Media accounts e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat and LinkedIn in order to promote Muslim Aid’s profile. This role will work closely with the rest of the marketing team to design and execute marketing strategies with the aim of raising the profile of Muslim Aid's fundraising campaigns.

Amongst other duties this role will:

  1. Update and maintain Muslim Aid’s social media accounts with relevant, engaging, innovative text, image and video content
  2. Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around new campaigns and programmes
  3. Research audience preferences and understand current trends keeping up to date with all social media good practice, ethical and legal guidelines and implement accordingly
  4. Build brand presence across all social channels – increasing relevant followers by creating and implementing initiatives that make effective use of social media.
  5. Encourage conversions to Muslim Aid’s website and donation landing pages

Who we are looking for:

This role will suit someone who is passionate about promoting humanitarian and development issues through the use of social media.  You will need to be able to articulate complex messages in compelling ways to generate support from the public.

The ideal candidate will have:

a)    Proven work experience as a Social media coordinator.

b)    Expertise in multiple social media platforms.

c)    In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics.

d)    Experience of content writing for marketing and communication purposes.
