Every year, Muslim Aid encourages its supporters to donate generously, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
We want to highlight the adversity facing many Muslims today as many are without aid. The situation in Syria is still ongoing. Typhoon Haiyan left thousands in Philippines homeless; the same goes for flooded regions of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
As citizens of humanity we all have a role to play, Muslim Aid does so through its relief aid and development programmes, many of them specifically designed for a specific region, for a specific purpose. Like our Dig-A-Well Programme, that has provided drinking water to local villagers in remote locations and our child sponsorship programme specifically designed to cater to little children providing them with the gift of education.
All these ventures cost money and it is through donations that our programmes have met with great success. The work we have been doing in Syria would not have been possible without these contributions. Monthly food rations, toilet and sanitary supplies, mobile health clinics and other provisions all come from pledges and donations from around the world.
This Ramadan, Muslim Aid would like to urge everyone to get involved in our different campaigns, each geared towards one goal; for the betterment of humanity. Donate your Zakat this Ramadan to Muslim Aid and lend a helping hand to a good cause.
