Together, we provided 2M meals last Ramadan

Together, we provided 2M meals last Ramadan

Over the past year, our Ummah has witnessed the deadliest calamities of our time. We’ve seen disasters such as earthquakes in Turkey-Syria, floods in Libya and Bangladesh, famine in Yemen and Somalia and not forgetting the brutal war on Gaza. As a result, the global hunger rate has increased rapidly, leading to a staggering 783 million people facing chronic hunger in 2023 (World Food Programme).

Food production and access to food has fallen, leaving 333 million people across the world not knowing where their next meal is coming from.

During the holy month of Ramadan, this urgency increases with millions unable to break their fast at the end of the day and in a constant state of hunger and weakness.

Here’s what you achieved

During 2023, your response to our Feed the Fasting campaign was phenomenal.

With your help, our teams on the ground and through our trusted partners, we were able to feed 6,208 families, providing over 2 million Iftar and Suhoor meals across 12 countries such as Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan and Sudan.  We distributed family food packs and gifted vouchers to provide nutritious meals they could rely on for the entire holy month.

Othman’s story

Our response was only made possible by your donations. The food packs we provided did more than relieve hunger and provide a nutritious Iftar and Suhoor. They also provided hope and dignity to those living in desperate need.

People like Othman Abd Al-Azez Al-Saw, 53 years old and living in Palestine.

Othman is disabled, suffering partial paralysis on the left-side of his body. He cannot walk without major support or work at all. Othman requires ongoing treatment and with the other 5 members of his household, is entirely dependent on humanitarian help to eat each day. Together, they live in over-crowded, hostile conditions, suffering extreme stress, acute hunger and wondering what tomorrow will bring.

The food packs you provided made a huge difference in easing his situation during Ramadan.

We thank Muslim Aid for the food you provided for us in Ramadan, may Allah (swt) bless you and reward immensely you for your help.”

Together this Ramadan

Ramadan 2024 is just around the corner and with the Ummah suffering like never before, we urge you to come together with us once more. We are ready to respond to the needs of our brothers and sisters around the world.

Together, we can feed the fasting.
