Our medical and health care programmes save and protect lives across the world.
For the last 35 years, our key healthcare services have improved the health and well-being of children and mothers as well as those suffering disease, malnutrition and life-changing injuries.
With you by our side, we have been able to help millions of people recover from life-threatening illness or the damaging effects of malnutrition. Our healthcare programmes provide long-term care so that we can ensure families stay healthy and protected from disease.
For those caught in the grip of famine, babies born into war-torn communities, expectant mothers in remote areas or the thousands injured by air strikes and violence, we care.
Aisha is just 8 months old. She lives in a rural area of Somalia. Her family, like many others in the region, live in a constant state of poverty, unable to access a nutritious and secure food supply.
Aisha visited the Muslim Aid health centre with her mother in October 2019. She was concerned that Aisha, like her sister before her, was suffering from diarrhoea and rapid weight loss. Following assessment, Aisha was diagnosed with acute malnutrition and admitted to the clinic for treatment.
Thankfully, following treatment Aisha has begun to recover and has now been discharged. Her family have been given nutritious supplements, support and she continue to be monitored through the Muslim Aid programme.
Our medical centres are stable points of contact that communities can rely on for help and protection through immunisation, nutrition and localised treatment programmes.
Your support can ensure that children like Aisha get the start in life that they deserve.
