Keep them alive, keep them warm. Help them survive this Winter.

As the cold weather sets in and temperatures drop, millions of vulnerable people are at risk. The change in weather brings a new threat. Without adequate shelter, warm clothing, blankets, heating or food - freezing to death is a possibility.  Having fled war and persecution, fighting against poverty and being forced to live on the streets, millions of people in need across the world have no protection against the cold. 

• 70.8 million people around the world have currently been forced from their homes and live in poverty. (UNHCR)
• Over half of the world’s refugees are children. (UNHCR)
• Over 14 million people in the UK are expected to be unable to afford fuel or warm clothing this winter. (JRF)

Freezing nights, snow, harsh winds and ice on the ground will only claim more lives. Children, the elderly, the homeless and those dealing with long-term illness will lose their lives to hypothermia, pneumonia and starvation. Many will not survive to see the warmer days.
