The day of Yawm Al Arafah is one of the most blessed days of the year because it is a day of spiritual significance and deep introspection. It's the day when pilgrims gather at the mountain plain of Arafah during Hajj pilgrimage, praying and supplicating to their Lord.

The blessings and healing of Yawm Al Arafah, but with a little secret

The day of Yawm Al Arafah is one of the most blessed days of the year because it is a day of spiritual significance and deep introspection. It's the day when pilgrims gather at the mountain plain of Arafah during Hajj pilgrimage, praying and supplicating to their Lord.

On this day, our brothers and sisters taking part in the pilgrimage spend the entire day in devotion and contemplation on the plains of Arafah, following in the footsteps of our beloved master, our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). On the day of Arafah, he delivered his farewell sermon on this sacred day, emphasising the principles of unity, equality, and righteousness. The day serves as a reminder of the profound message of Islam and the importance of embodying its virtues.

The day of Arafah is also significant because Allah gifted us this ayah in the Qur'an:

"This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion" (Surah al Maa'idah 5:3).

Yawm Al Arafah is also known as the "Day of Forgiveness." On this day, Allah showers His mercy and forgiveness upon those who sincerely seek it, especially by fasting and giving charity.

The blessings and healing of Yawm Al Arafah, but with a little secret

It is a recommended Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) for those who are not pilgrims to fast. The Prophet (PBUH) was asked about fasting on the day of Arafah, to which he told us: "It expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year" (Muslim).

The Prophet (PBUH) also said:

"There is no day on which Allah frees people from the Fire more so than on the day of 'Arafah. He comes close to those (people standing on 'Arafah), and then He revels before His Angels saying, ‘What are these people seeking" (Muslim).

Our beloved messenger also recommended that we recite a special dua for Yawm Al Arafah:

"The most excellent dua is the dua on the Day of Arafah, and the best of what I and the prophets before me have said is "There is nothing that deserves to be worshipped in truth except Allah; he is Alone and has no partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is All-Powerful over all things'" (Muwatta).

لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له ، له الملك ، وله الحمد ، وهو على كل شيء قدير

"La illaha il Allah wahda wa la sharika-lah la almulk, wla alhamd, w how ala kul shayun qadir"

May Allah keep us all on the right path and may we maximise the rewards and spiritual healing we get by basking in the mercy of the beautiful Yawm Al Arafah.
