Muslim Aid condemns illegal fundraising in Birmingham

It is with sadness we learn that some individuals have abused our Charity and let down the entire Muslim community by using the good name of Muslim Aid to illegally raise funds for their own agenda.

Muslim Aid is very appreciative of the hundreds of volunteers who have supported our charitable activities, which cover more than 50 countries globally, and we hope to continue our charitable work in the future  with the help of these kind and upstanding charitable youth and well-wishers.

We take this opportunity to reassure our donors and the general public that we have a very stringent policy of volunteer recruitment and monitoring and we apply due diligence at every stage of our work. Our staff and volunteers are required to carry Muslim Aid ID badges. Muslim Aid always obtains prior permission of relevant authorities for street and door to door collections.

We would like to express our appreciation of the West Midlands Police who have been very understanding of our predicament and ensured that such abuses were brought to our attention immediately.
