Awards for Muslim Aid Sri Lanka at Banking Conference

Muslim Aid Sri Lanka (MASL) was honoured with two prestigious awards at the 4th Sri Lanka Islamic Banking and Finance Conference (4SLIBFC) held at Galadari Hotel in Colombo on the 17 of July 2012.

“The Social Upliftment Award” and the “Islamic Finance Product of the Year” award were presented to MASL in recognition of their work in providing comprehensive financial services to the poor.

The provision of comprehensive range of financial services is needed for effective sustainable development rather than the limitations of one or two credit products. MASL has successfully demonstrated this by offering financial products to those with very low income, thus removing the perception that low income laborers are unable to cope with the complexities of finance.

MASL offers different financial services to these people such as Murabaha, Salam, Istisna, Musharaka and Micro Takaful according to their requirements.

The Country Director of Muslim Aid Sri Lanka Faizer Khan accepted the awards amidst a distinguished gathering of leaders from the Banking Industry as well as from the Capital markets.
