Muslim Aid Trustee S M T Wasti Honored for Service

On June 17 The UK Islamic Mission (UKIM) celebrated the lifetime services of individuals to the community. Muslim Aid Trustee Syed Tanzim Wasti was honoured for his contributions and commitments in working with UKIM for the last 50 years.

Mr Wasti played an important role in initiating and leading many national and international human rights issues affecting the Muslim community

Wasti said communities must concentrate their efforts on “improving the outcomes for our children, and grandchildren – this can only be achieved through more concentration on education, and guiding our children, even from poorer starts in life to aspire to be professionals and be in the top 5% of society – in whatever fields – they must excel. This will lift our community, and by extension it will lift the wider community – for that is what we are fundamentally part of.”

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
