Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahamtullah wa Barakatuh
On behalf of Muslim Aid trustees, staff and volunteers, I would like to wish all my sisters and brothers in faith, especially our esteemed donors, Ramadan Kareem, “Kul 'am wa antum bi khayr” (May every year find you in good health).
In this blessed month, Muslims not only reinforce their beliefs and spirituality but they also strengthen their sense of civic responsibility, human dignity, equality and social justice. Therefore, this Ramadan we are asking everyone to support our endeavours to empower disadvantaged people so they can achieve freedom; freedom from poverty, from disease and from hunger.
From Syria to the Central African Republic to Myanmar, we have been witnessing the cries of millions of people who are being driven into agony and misery due to the conflicts and social injustice inflicted upon them. Many of them are refugees or internally displaced, fleeing from conflict or war. The month of Ramadan will be particularly difficult for them. Let us all keep them in our thoughts and prayers and I pray that Allah (SWT) gives us strength to work collectively for the destitute and ensure such deserving people have food on their plates at the end of the day.
Once again, I pray this Ramadan brings a multitude of happiness and blessings. May the Most Merciful and the Most Kind keep us safe and steady on His path always and may He accept our ibaadah and forgive all our sins, Ameen.
