Humble Teachings for All

They say that giving is the great reward of all, and this is true for all of us. Helping those you love makes you feel good because you are easing their worries or anxieties or because you are doing something to make them smile. However, selflessly helping those in need around the world is a very rewarding experience for all.

quran

“Treat not the orphan with harshness.”

 - The Holy Qur’an, (9:93)

The Holy Qur’an states that we should protect the rights of orphans; their right to live and their right to property. Children who lose their parents at a young age should not be left unprotected.

“Treat with kindness orphans and those in need.”

 - The Holy Qur’an, (2:83)

It is our duty to offer shelter and protect the homes of orphans until they come of age and can do so for themselves. The same goes for people who are refugees and live in poverty. It is our obligation to make sure they are looked after.

The Holy Qur’an

On… Human Rights

“No one can enslave another human being in any form of slavery.”

- The Holy Qur’an, (3:79)

The Holy Qur’an is one of the biggest advocates of human rights. It abolishes slavery, which is a problem to this day in certain parts of the world. Anyone, who works hard at making a living and providing for their family, must be compensated, in full, for their hard work done. So hard work should be rewarded accordingly, regardless of gender, and no one should be held as a slave; all pro-human rights initiatives.

On… Being Humble

“Walk on Earth in humility.”

- The Holy Qur’an, (25:63)

Being humble, generous and pious are some of the highly preached teachings of The Holy Qur’an. Being kind to others, being helpful when needed, and not showing anger or taunting others are a few more to name. One must be humble and always find opportunities to make a positive difference in other people’s lives.

It is these teachings of The Holy Qur’an that we should aim to strive for in our daily lives.

Here at Muslim Aid, our Child Sponsorship Programme provides education, shelter and food provisions to thousands of children and their families around the world. Our aid campaigns in Syria, Gaza, and Myanmar strive to bring normalcy to those regions, by providing them with aid and infrastructure assistance. We do this with the continuous generosity of our supporters.
