Your Zakat built a market in Syria

Your Zakat built a market in Syria

This year, your Zakat helped to rehabilitate a market in Syria, making a long-term impact on the community.

The town of Sarmada, in northwest Syria’s Idlib, is home to thousands of people who have been internally displaced by the ongoing war. These internal refugees often live in camps with little access to education, livelihood and healthcare.

Our intervention built a large market of 14 shops for business owners to finally restart their lives and feed their families.

These market shops will provide income to families for generations to come and will help stir the entrepreneurial spirit that Syrians are so well-known for in the Arab world.

This stall is just one of a plethora of ways we have used your Zakat for the benefit of the ummah.

Your Zakat is more than a financial contribution; it's a manifestation of unity, love, and the strength of the human spirit. By giving, you're becoming a vital part of a movement that transcends borders, cultures, and circumstances.

Together this Ramadan, our Zakat serves. Have you paid your Zakat this year? Use our handy Zakat calculator to see how much you owe.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
