More than 2000 people have been killed and thousands injured after a series of powerful earthquakes struck eastern Afghanistan. Entire villages have been flattened, leaving families homeless, hungry, and traumatised. Help save lives in Afghanistan. Serve Humanity. Donate Now.
On 31st August 2025, Afghanistan was hit by a devastating magnitude-6.0 earthquake, killing a reported 2,200 people and leaving thousands injured or unaccounted for. At least 8,000 homes have been destroyed, and villages are left flattened, leaving already vulnerable families with no shelter, food or water.
The country was already at breaking point. The World Food Programme has called Afghanistan one of the worst humanitarian crises on earth. Now, with entire villages destroyed, people are clinging to survival. Rescue teams are battling blocked roads, landslides, and heavy rain to reach remote areas, making aid even more urgent.
We have been on the ground in Afghanistan for over 20 years, standing alongside communities through conflict, hunger, and disaster. Once again, the people of Afghanistan are calling for our service.
We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
