Extreme Sylhet floods in Bangladesh have left over six million people struggling to survive, and many homes and livestock have been washed away, leaving hundreds of thousands homeless and in desperate need. Almost 80 per cent of Sylhet is underwater after the worst Bangladesh flood in two decades.

Heavy monsoon downpours in Bangladesh’s Sylhet region have left hundreds of thousands stranded. The Bangladeshi government have deployed soldiers in Sunamgang and Sylhet as streets turn into flowing rivers, homes and livestock are washed away, and the electricity supply is cut.

In addition to the risk of drowning, floods also lead to landslides and electrocutions that each have deadly effects. Furthermore, contaminated water can result in waterborne diseases that are rife in developing nations, such as Bangladesh. Ultimately, floods of this scale destroy lives.

The Danger of Food and Water Shortage

Stranded and cut off, many residents of Sunamgang and Sylhet are facing a food and water crisis. Flood water can have very high rates of bacteria and parasites that can lead to sickness and disease.

Without immediate intervention and support, the situation could deteriorate and turn into a full-scale humanitarian disaster. Your donation is vital to saving lives, please donate now.

Deliver Flood Support to Sylhet

Our Prophet ( PBUH) said, "Whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens on the Day of Judgement. And whoever helps ease a difficulty in the world, Allah will grant him ease from a difficulty in the world and in the Hereafter." (Tirmidhi)

During this sacred month of Dhul Hijjah, earn the reward by helping our brothers and sisters in Sylhet.
