The streets of Sylhet have turned into flowing rivers, homes and livestock are washed away, and the electricity supply is cut.

In addition to the risk of drowning, floods also lead to landslides and electrocutions that each have deadly effects. Furthermore, contaminated water can result in waterborne diseases that are rife in developing nations, such as Bangladesh. Ultimately, floods of this scale destroy lives.
