At least 210 people lost their lives following an explosion in Lebanon, which resulted in around 7,500 injuries and 300,000 people losing their homes. Needless to say, help is needed in the area without delay as men, women and children all fight against conditions just to see another day.
The Lebanon explosion has only added to the desperation that thousands were facing, with poverty rife in the country anyway. As more and more innocent lives require urgent help, we urge you to waste no time and give what you can to Muslim Aid today to help us help those who most need it.
Muslim Aid was one of the first charities in Lebanon and has been on the ground in Lebanon since 2007, supporting families with food, water and healthcare. With your help, we have also been providing essential support to Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. As of 2020, it is estimated that there are close to two million refugees (1.5 million Syrian and 300,000 Palestinian) in Lebanon, all of whom are facing political instability.
This means that many still are not safe despite arriving in Lebanon in search of refuge, with many having already been separated from family such as parents, husbands, wives and children. Each day is filled with uncertainty, never really knowing whether they will see another sunrise.
Our team in Beirut are closely monitoring the current situation and preparing to support those in greatest need, but we need your help. Without the generous donations of our supporters, our team simply would not be able to continue to help those who are most in need.
Your donation to our Global Emergency Fund means we can be ready to deliver lifesaving aid to disaster-hit places like Lebanon, saving and protecting lives.
For our supporters, the easiest and most efficient way of helping those in Lebanon is to donate to Muslim Aid’s global emergency appeal today. Some of the ways you can help include:
£60 – the cost of providing an emergency supply of food to a family
£100 – which will provide safe, clean drinking water to a family
£200 – will provide a safe and secure shelter for a family in need
£350 – to supply essential medicine and healthcare facilities to treat those injured and in poor health
Alternatively, you can choose to give an amount of your choosing, no matter how big or small your contribution, as well as having the option to set up a regular monthly payment to support our efforts.
Funds raised from this emergency will go towards the global emergency appeal, supporting this emergency as well as many others across the globe. Thank you for your contributions. Please pray for Lebanon.
