Muslim Aid sets up an office in Highbury, London, N7

1986 – Roots in London

Muslim Aid set up its first office in Highbury, London and the board held a press conference at the London Press Association to officially inaugurate the charity. Yusuf Islam’s leadership helped raise the profile of the organisation across British Muslim communities.

Relief programmes were immediately deployed in response to continuing famine in Ethiopia, consolidating Muslim Aid’s operational capability and network of volunteers across the UK.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
