1987 – Refugee Response & Field Presence

As millions of Afghan refugees fled into Pakistan, Muslim Aid provided vital emergency supplies and opened a field office in Peshawar to manage education and healthcare programmes for displaced families. The charity also sent medicines, seeds, food and blankets to Sudan, assisted flood victims in Bangladesh, and delivered emergency support to Mozambique, Somalia and Chad.

This year saw Muslim Aid expand charitable work across many countries (including Uganda, Ghana, Malawi, Egypt, Italy, Argentina and Brazil), and the beginnings of longer-term development programming beyond short-term relief.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
