Shelters, Water & Livelihoods 

In response to Cyclone Nargis, Muslim Aid built a major school doubling as acyclone shelter in Myanmar and continued reconstruction and resettlement projects for IDPs in Sri Lanka. Water access remained a focus with wells in Southern Darfur and greenhouse projects in eastern Bosnia supporting returning families. 

Muslim Aid’s Women’s DevelopmentProgramme in the Gambia hastrained and supported manywomen to become self-sufficient. In2008, The Association of FashionDesigners launched a Muslim Aidfunded project aimed at trainingaspiring young female entrepreneursin sewing and fashion designtechniques.  

MA also launched initiatives to make Qurbani more sustainably livelihood-focused, combining faith-driven giving with income generation for rights holders.
