2017 – Grenfell & Women’s Livelihoods

Muslim Aid joined rapid UK mobilisations after the Grenfell Tower fire, collecting supplies alongside partners and supporting victims with food, medical care, counselling and legal support.

Globally, the charity completed a European Commission-supported project in Sudan helping 1,650 women form 66 female-only income-generation associations focused on livestock and enterprise skills.

These programmes showcased MA’s twin focus on immediate humanitarian assistance and women-centred economic empowerment.

This year saw the transition of Muslim Aid UK to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) aimed to strengthen the charity's governance. The new CIO structure was officially registered on 29 December 2017. The creation of the CIO (registered charity number 1176462) involved several key operational dates that can be viewed directly through the Charity Commission Register.

We are a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters or conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease, homelessness, injustice, deprivation or lack of skills and economic opportunities.
