Many Palestinians and humanitarian organisations continue to describe Gaza as the world’s largest open-air prison, a rigidly controlled strip of land with little opportunity for escape or growth.

One third of Palestinians live below the poverty line, and after more than 15 years of blockade and violence the 2 million residents of Gaza have been plunged into abject poverty. 80% of the population rely on aid to simply survive. With food, medication, water and electricity supplies at an all-time low.

Muslim Aid has been helping to serve the most vulnerable for years. We have supported Palestine with vital and lifesaving emergency aid, provided access to healthcare, offered livelihood opportunities, as well as building sustainable projects like the Gaza water desalination units.
