Rebuilding Pakistan

The recent flooding in Pakistan impacted more than a third of the country completely submerged by the worst floods recorded. 33 million people were affected, thousands of lives lost, and thousands injured.

The Muslim Aid team in Pakistan have been on the ground delivering emergency relief and assistance. Muslim Aid have reached tens of thousands of people in three districts including district Quetta, Pishin, and Killa Saifullah in Baluchistan. We are providing affected families with vital food supplies, emergency shelter kits, safe and clean drinking water, and essential hygiene kits. We have recently expanded to Sindh to address the urgent food, security, shelter, and water needs of vulnerable flood-affected households, and improve wellbeing and resilience through livelihood support, with special attention to children, women, and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs)

Not only are we responding to this emergency, Muslim Aid is committed to helping affected communities recover as soon as possible by supporting and initiating humanitarian and development projects in Baluchistan and other parts of Pakistan

I will be traveling to Pakistan in coming days to support the team in the recovery phase of our interventions designed to improve the living conditions for flood-affected communities through food, shelter, and NFIs. To support affected communities in sustaining their livelihoods and improve their resilience while ensuring their protection and the reduction of disease outbreaks in floods-affected communities through promotion of hygienic practices and improved WASH facilities in Mirpurkhas and Sanghar, Sindh.
