Child Sponsorship is expected to address a child’s needs like school fees and scholastic materials, it doesn’t address much bigger problems such as parents’ inability to pay for their child or children (depending on the size of the family and number of children) to attend school and provide for their immediate needs. In many cases, does not cover basic medical support for the child and addressing other social needs.

At Muslim Aid UK, the Community Based Model (CBM) was adopted to ensure a community focused interventions conducted over a period, to provide a holistic approach. This sustainable model support families with children in a variety of areas including Health - by having adequate medical care for the children, Livelihoods- ensuring income generating activities for parents, Education – inculcating quality education and making the learning environment conducive for the children with appropriate infrastructure such as WASH facilities etc.

What will sponsorship provide?

• Early Learning Opportunities:  we provide a strong foundation for children by ensuring they have access to education in their early years. Trained teachers and dedicated facilities provide preschool children with environments tailored to support the culture of learning. 
• Family income:  we provide skills training and financial assistance to support parents to start their own businesses so they can ensure a stable income. Having financial security at home enables children to focus on their education without the pressure to give up on their studies or even have to earn themselves. 
• Generational growth: Through five to 10 years of long-term support, we will give communities what they need to thrive. From renovating school buildings and providing teacher training to giving access to clean water and healthcare, your sponsorship can make it happen.
