Fast for a day

Sponsored Fast - Please Support Us!

We (Staff of Mayfield) are fundraising for Turkey and Syria to support their recovery from the devastating earthquakes that have recently taken place, causing such detrimental loss for families and children.

We will complete a sponsored one day fast during the month of Ramadan. This way we can fundraise, while also showing cultural support to those who regularly fast in the month of Ramadan. Many Muslim children in our school will be fasting at this time, so it will demonstrate solidarity with plenty of students in our Mayfield family!

Please sponsor us in not eating or drinking (including water!) during daylight hours and raising as much money as we can to aid recovery in Turkey and Syria.

The fast will take place on Tuesday 28th March. Obviously, this is after the clocks go forward so that's a lot of daylight hours!

Turkey and Syria Earthquake Appeal

Two deadly earthquakes of 7.8 and 7.6 magnitude struck Southern Turkey and Northern Syria in February. Tragically, over 50,000 people were killed and another 10,000 injured. Buildings and residential blocks were pulverised while people lay asleep.
