As we approach the Holy Month of Ramadan, I have been given the privilege to visit Sierra Leone and serve the children of this community. 

WHY?

Research has uncovered that 33% of children aged 5 - 17 have experienced child trafficking.

While another 36% of children aged 5 - 17 have experienced child labour.

WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN?

Muslim Aid believe educating children and providing them with good healthcare, helps reduce poverty and prevents disease; therefore giving future generations the tools to become financially independent.

What will sponsorship provide?

• Early Learning Opportunities:  we provide a strong foundation for children by ensuring they have access to education in their early years. Trained teachers and dedicated facilities provide preschool children with environments tailored to support the culture of learning. 
• Family income:  we provide skills training and financial assistance to support parents to start their own businesses so they can ensure a stable income. Having financial security at home enables children to focus on their education without the pressure to give up on their studies or even have to earn themselves.
